Bite My Tongue

I found out this afternoon that my mom is having surgery next Wednesday, so I'll be in Houston Tuesday night through Sundayish. 

Thinking about the surgery just upsets me. It's going to take between 10-12 hours, but 2 of the best surgeons in the country are working on her. 

Here's the thing that really gets me:

my mom, for my entire life, has been a singer. she is almost always at least humming. Steve always says one of his favorite things about her is that she always walks through the door singing. 

Well, she won't be able to sing again after this surgery. She'll also have a speech impediment for the rest of her life. 

It's extremely upsetting, but she's alive. 

Anyway, it's time for me to get some sleep...I came home from work today and passed out because I was so tired. I really can't have another day like yesterday
